The technology selected to enable this integration is based on the HL7 FHIR protocol, an internationally recognised standard for the exchange of clinical and administrative data. This ensures compatibility between heterogeneous systems and facilitates communication across different healthcare delivery units, from hospitals to primary care centres.

One of the major achievements, according to the Health Secretariat’s report, was the unification of data originating from different systems such as Hygia, MV, Matrix, PACS Vivace, and GlicoSys. This means that healthcare professionals now have access to a complete medical record, including clinical history, test results, and care pathways, regardless of where the data was generated.
