The Carreras Logistics Group Case: Innovation and Efficiency in the Cloud

Carreras Logistics Group is a leading fourth-generation operator in Spain and Portugal.

It offers a broad portfolio of services, covering all activities in the supply chain, including dedicated warehouse management, co-packing, storage and transportation at both ambient and controlled temperatures, as well as logistics consulting services.

The Group has over 2,400 employees, operates in 4 countries (Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy), and has an extensive network of warehouses totaling more than half a million square meters.

The improvement and restructuring of processes promotes greater optimization of billing and analytics across all business units.

Evolve the processes and the corporate ERP

One of the major challenges they faced was implementing cybersecurity, digital transformation, and cloud migration, taking advantage of the initiative to model processes according to their needs. This project is part of an ambitious transformation plan that significantly reshaped the company’s systems landscape. Focused on continuous improvement, the plan aims for process digitalization and automation, establishing a new standard of efficiency and security.

Implement Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP

To address the challenge of evolving its processes and corporate ERP, Carreras relied on Minsait and Microsoft as strategic partners. Initially, concerns about cloud migration were resolved through close collaboration, which enabled the reengineering and improvement of the processes affected by this change. As a result, Carreras Logistics Group decided to implement the Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP, with Minsait’s support.

This implementation covered purchasing, customer and supplier invoicing, financial accounting, treasury, and analytics processes. Additionally, it was integrated with their proprietary comprehensive logistics software, enhancing the unique value Carreras Logistics Group offers to its clients. Microsoft’s cloud ensures key aspects of security, such as data protection, threat prevention, and regulatory compliance, allowing the company to confidently entrust this responsibility to a security leader like Microsoft.

Optimize processes, strengthen their digital ecosystem, and enhance operational efficiency

Thanks to this initiative, Grupo Carreras has significantly optimized its processes, now supported by a constantly evolving cloud platform. This enables them to maximize the potential of emerging innovations, such as artificial intelligence. Carreras Logistics Group has established itself as a benchmark in security, ensuring the protection of its data.

In addition, the availability of real-time information has improved markedly, facilitating integration with other systems. They also now have the capability to seamlessly integrate with the rest of the Microsoft 365 suite, strengthening their digital ecosystem and enhancing operational efficiency.
