25 . September . 2021
Social services must respond to the new context of the welfare state by being preventive and proactive.
There are two very important factors that will shape the future of social services:
- Sociodemographic change: A longer-living society, referred to as a “silver economy” (associated with the needs of the elderly) renders digital transformation absolutely imperative.
- The social and economic crisis sparked by the pandemic: New policies and strategies must therefore be put in place to prevent poverty, destitution and social exclusion.
The transformation of social services is imminent and necessary but, on which three factors should it be sustained?
- Humanising processes: Providing a single, holistic view of the user is essential.
- Multichannel care: Generating closeness and solidity. There is a need to bring the administration closer to citizens in order to ensure adequate protection of individuals and fair access to services.
- Quality of care, Information for decision-making: Having all the information to facilitate individuals care, including and analyzing the corresponding actions and responses.
