Telecom Argentina accelerates its technological modernisation with Minsait

We migrated the Business Intelligence infrastructure to the cloud, enhancing efficiency and reliability in data management

In an environment where technological agility and data availability are essential, Telecom Argentina needed to modernise its systems supporting number portability to ensure continuous coordination with the regulatory body and to adapt to the new demands of the telecommunications market.

The company entrusted Minsait with leading this process, ensuring the maintenance of critical systems while driving a comprehensive transformation of its business intelligence infrastructure. The project had to be executed without compromising operational continuity or the accuracy of the information used for regulatory oversight and customer management.

This project enabled Telecom Argentina to evolve towards a cloud-based advanced analytics model, delivering greater agility, security, and processing capacity.

Modernising business intelligence without interrupting operations

The main challenge lay in migrating from legacy systems that limited scalability and processing efficiency to a modern cloud architecture capable of handling large volumes of information and delivering results in real time.

It was essential to optimise costs, increase data analysis capabilities, and ensure the reliability of reports, all without affecting day-to-day operations or the relationship with supervisory bodies.

In addition, the project needed to incorporate new Business Intelligence tools and methodologies aligned with the latest standards in data management and advanced analytics.

Modern infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform

To achieve these objectives, Minsait designed and implemented a comprehensive solution based on the complete migration of the Business Intelligence environment to Google Cloud Platform, ensuring sustained and secure technological evolution.

The main actions carried out included:

  • Full migration of reports and databases to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Process re-engineering, adapting the data architecture to the new cloud environments.
  • Adoption of BigQuery and Looker technologies, optimising real-time data analytics and visualisation.
  • Controlled shutdown of legacy platforms such as Teradata and MicroStrategy Cable, reducing costs and simplifying the infrastructure.
  • Optimisation of data flows and automation of reports, ensuring greater traceability and availability of information.
  • Ongoing support and technical guidance, ensuring stability during the transition and in subsequent operations.
