Alberto Rojas Ríos

President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Colombia

Magistrate Alberto Rojas Ríos is a lawyer from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, a PhD candidate from the University of Valencia, Spain, with a Master's degree in Human Rights, Human Rights Democracy from the same university.

He specialised in Procedural Law, Administrative Law and Constitutional Law. He has served the academy as a professor at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, a member of the Colombian and Ibero-American Institutes of Procedural Law and an elected member of the Colombian Academy of Jurisprudence. He was an Associate Judge of the Honorable Constitutional Court.

In his extensive work experience, he has served as Attorney General (E), Deputy Attorney General (E) and Deputy Attorney General for Civil Affairs, positions in which he stood out for his defense of public property, public assets and the protection and defense of fundamental rights in emblematic litigation. For twenty-two years he has taught and lectured in the subject of Civil Procedure Law and Constitutional Guarantees at the Universidad de Los Andes, Externado, Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario.
