Elections to the Basque Parliament were held on 12 July, elections that should have been held last April. As in Galicia, following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain, and the consequent confinement measures, the date was postponed by three months.

Those responsible for the organisation of the electoral event have produced a video in which they explain the measures they adopted in the Basque Country to ensure that the election day ran as smoothly as possible. Eugenio Artetxe Palomar, Director of the Basque Government's Legal System, Services and Electoral Processes, explains the keys to success that have enabled the periodic democratic renewal to be maintained with all the guarantees.
