José M. Pavía

Director of the Research Group on Electoral Processes and Public Opinion at the Unviersity of Valencia

Jose M. Pavía is Director of the Research Group on Electoral Processes and Public Opinion of the Universitat de Valencia and has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Methodological Notebooks of the CIS, 2009-2011.

Born in Alicante in 1969, he graduated in Mathematical Sciences in 1992 and received his doctorate in Economics from the Universitat de Valencia in 1997. Since 2010, he has been a professor of quantitative methods at the Universitat de Valencia. He has participated in more than 10 research projects and about 40 transfer contracts, and is a member of associations such as the Specialized Group on Elections, Public Opinion and Political Parties of the PSA, the Foundation for Free Access to Statistics or the European Survey Research Association. Professor Pavía has spent time at Stanford University (USA) and Carlos III University in Madrid (Spain) and has been visiting professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid and at Heilbronn University (Germany) and has enjoyed research stays at the University of Hertfordshire, University of Leicester, University of Southampton and the University of Durham.
