Jordi Barrat i Esteve

Professor of Constitutional Law at the Rovira i Virgili University

Jordi Barrat Esteve (Reus, 1968) has a degree in Law from the University of Navarra (1991) and a Doctor in Law from the University of León (1997). He is currently a professor of constitutional law at the Rovira i Virgili University and has held similar positions at the universities of Navarra, Alicante and León. He also served as Deputy Director General of Institutional Relations and Promotion of Democratic Quality in the Government of Catalonia (2013/2014). He has conducted research stays in Peru, Mexico, Moldova and Mongolia. His lines of research focus on the analysis of political representation processes and, in this framework, he has devoted special attention to the use of new technologies. He has been an international electoral advisor and observer for different international organizations (eg: ECES, A-WEB, Council of Europe, IDEA, IFES, OAS, European Union, OSCE / ODIHR, The Carter Center).
